Turning Out - AJR
- This project was a lot of fun- and a lot of work. After meeting AJR after one of their shows two of my best friends - Austin Rodriguez and Kalee Mccollaum - and I, ended up working on this music video with them!
- They had already created the story and music. So with them as creative directors of it, the three of us and a small team to support rigging and animating created this music video.
- It was a great exercise in seeing just how much work goes into creating a finished film. We had to deal with being in school and having jobs while working on this on the side. Little did we know the three of us would also all get internships at studios during production as well so we had to tele-work with each other to finish it from three separate cities - Vancouver BC - San Francisco and Burbank.
-It was fun to get to play many roles in this project, concept - set modeling - texturing - shading -  grooming - lighting - rendering - matte painting - and compositing
- Key things I was responsible for were the texturing/shading and grooming of David, (male character) - modeling & texturing/shading of the moon and space station exterior- and matte painting of the backgrounds.
Here are some of the concepts I did early on to figure out the look of David and some environments. They changed a bit as production went along - but its fun to see their beginnings.
